Therapeutic Mentoring

Age Range

5-18

VFS Therapeutic Mentoring program is designed to teach, coach and assist youth to develop independent living skills, social skills, daily living skills and self-care. Our Therapeutic Mentors are positive adult care professionals who help youth become more interested, connected and responsible within the community. Services are provided in settings where the youth resides. This includes but not limited to home, foster home or community settings.

Substance Use Services (Intensive Outpatient Services ASAM 2.1)

Age Range

(Adolescents 13-18) (Adults 18+)

Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Services are designed to assist adolescents and adults with a substance use disorder which has resulted in significant impairments in major life activities.

  • VFS will provide short-term intensive treatment (three (3) hours a day three times a week)
  • Wellness screening and education (health, nutrition and physical condition)
  • Medication management (monitoring, recovery education and illness management)
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Access and use of community resources
  • Lifestyle education and training
  • Interpersonal skill-building (anger management, stress management and family planning)
  • Comprehensive evaluations and treatment recommendations, conducted at the request of the client, employer, probation officer or attorney
  • Evaluations of and services to “at risk” family members
  • Continuity of services spanning a period of time from the client's initial crisis to recovery and integration into the community
  • Outcome measures, evaluation design and continuous improvement measures to ensure the highest quality of services.

Outpatient Therapy

Age Range

5 years old and older

VFS Outpatient Therapy services are designed to provide counseling to individuals to improve areas of concern in their life. Areas of concern often include but not limited to depression, anxiety, marital concerns, self esteem, parenting issues, grief and loss. Components of service include individual, group and family counseling.

Crisis Stabilization Services

Age Range

5 years and older

VFS Crisis Stabilization Services are designed to provide direct Mental Healthcare services to non-hospitalized individuals experiencing a time of intense difficulty, trouble or danger. This includes (but not limited to): aggression, self-harm, thoughts of suicide, threatening behaviors, etc. VFS has qualified Mental Health professionals who are committed to responding to a crisis 24 hours a day.

Designed to provide short term intensive services to individuals who are at risk for homelessness or hospitalization.
